Mountain Warfare School
Ethan Allen Firing Range, Jericho, VT
- 2 week course that teaches soldiers the necessary skills to use a mountainous region to their advantage, negotiate difficult terrain and weather conditions, and methods to combat cold-weather/environment related injuries.
- Develop a physical training program that will prepare you to carry a 45-65 pound ruck, five to eight kilometers daily in mountainous terrain under sometimes severe environmental conditions.
- Summer training emphasis on mountain river crossing, balance climbing and cliff evacuation.
- Less than 10 percent of course training hours (173 winter/161 summer total hours) are in the classroom.
