Summer Session

ATTENTION:  The Post View Summer Session Registration Link may be unavailable during the metered Fall Pre-Registration timeframe beginning April 1 and ending April 6.  If you need assistance enrolling in summer session courses during this timeframe please report to the Summer Session Office, 303 Shell Hall. 

VMI Summer Session is available to facilitate a cadets’ progression toward degree completion by offering courses for academic credit during the summer, consistent with the Academic Program Mission.

Goals of the Summer Session include:

  1. Enhancing cadet retention and optimize graduation rates 
  2. Providing opportunities for cadets to enrich their education 
  3. Enabling cadets to attend the VMI Summer Session and also attend ROTC summer camps, engage in internships, and earn income.

In addition to two five-week regular summer terms, the Summer Session also administers the Summer Study Abroad Program, the Summer Undergraduate Research Institute, and the Summer Transition Program.
