The Major Field Test in Business
Though not up to our usual standards, the Class of 2011 performed well on the Educational Testing Service’s Major Field Test—Business (MFTB).
Faculty ResearchOur faculty have been hard at work publishing research in academic journals as well as presenting their research at various conferences around the country and the world.
TAPS – Col. Karen GutermuthCol. Karen Gutermuth, retired professor of economics and business, died 5 February following a lengthy illness.
New FacultyWe are very fortunate to have three new faculty members joining our department.
Lopez ChairThe Economics and Business department is pleased to announce the return of Mr. Stephen Todd McCane to teach in the department for Fall 2011.
Alumni in the newsCharles S. Luck IV, president and CEO of Goochland County-based Luck Stone Corp., has been named the University of Richmond Robins School of Business' Executive of the Year.
The Cadet Investment GroupThe Cadet Investment Group (CIG) was founded in 1986 by the VMI Foundation. The group’s mission is to learn about investing. To do this, members serve as investment analysts and portfolio managers.
Cadet InternshipsIn the summer of 2011, eighteen cadets will be participating in internships at various businesses across the country. Six of these cadets are also doing the associated academic work required to earn business or economic elective credits for their internships.
BGS and ODE ActivityThe Sigma Beta Delta, the Honor Society for Business and Omicron Delta Economics Honor Society were quite active this past year thanks to cadet leadership.
Cadet AwardsThe Annual ODE Banquet to honor our top cadets was held on 31 March.
