Minor in Writing

Regardless of cadets’ chosen primary areas of expertise, those who successfully complete the Writing Minor graduate from VMI with a strong grounding in the principles of rhetoric and highly sought after skills in written communication—a mark of distinction that enables and motivates them to become informed leaders of their communities, ethical communicators in a global market, and active citizens of the larger democracy.

The Writing Minor features courses in rhetoric, composition, technical/professional writing, and creative writing.It is open to cadets of all majors.
