Career Path
Major Lloyd Wells is originally from Leavenworth, Kansas. In May 1996, he graduated from Central Missouri State University with a BS in Criminal Justice. He commissioned Engineer, and after Engineer Officer Basic Course, was assigned to Company C, 489th Engineer Battalion (USAR) Harrison, AR. He served as Assault and Obstacle Platoon Leader in the 489th EN BN. Major Wells’ next assignment was as the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Company Construction Officer with the Company A, 244th EN BN (USAR) in Boulder, CO. In 2000, Major Wells completed the Engineer Office Advance Course and was assigned to Fort Hood, TX as the III Corps Topographic Engineer and then he transition to serve as the Corps Engineer Plans Officer. In 2003 MAJ Wells was selected to serve as the AGR Company Commander for Company B 467th ENN BN in Greenville, MS, while assigned as the company commander he mobilized and deployed with the company to Iraq as a Counter-IED unit. Maj Wells next assignment was with the 87th Division (USAR) in Birmingham, AL he served as an Operations Officer, Division Training Officer and finally as the G4 Operations Branch Chief. In 2010 MAJ Wells reported to the Virginia Military Institute to serve as the USAR Liaison Officer and currently serves as the MS IV Branch Chief.
Major Wells is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic Course, Engineer Officer Advance Course, the Combine Arms Exercise and SOCC Recruiting Operations Officer Course.
Personal
Major Wells is married to the former Bethany Carter from Bucyrus, Missouri. They have 3 children, Ross (13), Faith (10), and Owen (5).
